On the Move, Meeting the Community...

Along with the general idea that setting up a brand new Council takes up a lot of time and energy, it also can be alot of fun!  As we go forward we have plenty of news.  First off Lunch with the Knights?  Success!  Our Council is but an infant and already the MP Helene LeBlanc for LaSalle Emard showed up.  

Next up, was the Feast for Our Lady of the Rapids.  For this occasion, a heartfelt thanks went out to Mark Hickey, Grand Knight of Council 284, as through him we at Kateri Tekakwitha Council were priveleged to receive the icon of Our Lady of Guadalupe at our Parish.  Quite an honour as there are only two of these icons in the world, complete with an apostolic blessing from Pope Benedict XVI.

The last bit of news (for now!.) is we want to welcome three brand new brothers!  Brothers Anthony Gualtieri, Sean Glenane and Fr Vincent Esprit all went through their First degree!

Welcome!

The first post is usually a welcoming one.  For years St John Brebeuf parish in Ville LaSalle Quebec, Canada has lobbied for and attempted to establish a Knights of Columbus Council.  Through the efforts of Joey Cuscuna and Sergio Borgia, this endeavour has now officially been realized.  Unlike most web presences, we have chosen the blogger template in order to dialogue with you the public.  When Fr Michael J McGivney founded the Knights, he was seeking to create an organization which is at once promoted unity, charity and fraternity.  Little did know, that by the grace of God, this organization would come to known as the strong right arm of the Church!  We are to serve the local community, however we will do it with 21st Century flare!  That means, we wish to show a solidarity with our brother knights all over the world.  The medium of the internet is just the forum and launch pad we need!  Stay tuned for our Youtube account, twitter and facebook fanpage all coming soon!  God bless.
